Which AI Teacher Are You? A free AI diagnostic for teachers and educators

Walk the AI is a free diagnostic that helps teachers and educators see where they stand with artificial intelligence. In twelve minutes, you answer behavioural questions and realistic classroom scenarios, discover your archetype among eight profiles, and get a personalized action plan: which AI tools to use in your teaching, and which to ignore. It is private, jargon-free, and free for teachers — always — from primary school through higher education and vocational or continuing education.

How it works

  1. Answer 40 questions about your habits, skills and judgement with AI — including realistic scenarios about lesson planning, student data and assessment.
  2. Get your archetype and skills map for free: your profile among eight archetypes, plus your scores across five dimensions — fundamentals & tools, augmented teaching, ethics & responsible use, mindset, and professional growth.
  3. Get the detailed report, free: your top three priorities, recommended tools and training, a twelve-week program, and a shareable certificate of completion — free for teachers, always.

The eight AI teacher archetypes

The method

The diagnostic is aligned with the UNESCO AI Competency Framework for Teachers and the European DigCompEdu framework, with scenario questions informed by UK Department for Education guidance on generative AI in education. Recommendations in the report draw on recognized models such as SAMR, TPACK and Bloom's taxonomy.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the diagnostic take? About twelve minutes. Your archetype and skills map appear right away, for free.

Are my answers confidential? Strictly. Your results live in your personal space, and nowhere else: no school, no employer, no third party. This diagnostic is for you — not for your annual review.

Who is it for? Teachers and educators who teach a group of learners — in schools, higher education, or vocational and continuing education. It is built on UNESCO's AI competency framework for teachers, so it is not designed for instructional designers or corporate L&D teams.

Is it really free? Yes — entirely free for teachers, always: the diagnostic, your archetype, the detailed report and your certificate. If you find it useful, you can support the project. A paid version exists only for schools and training organisations that want an aggregated view of a whole team.

What is the diagnostic based on? The UNESCO AI Competency Framework for Teachers and the European DigCompEdu framework.
